Rotary members, both worldwide and in Croatia, are continually finding ways to contribute to the response to COVID-19 and to help the communities affected. We thus participated in the superbly executed project Rotary District 1913 – Croatia worth 2.9 million kuna, which equipped hospitals throughout Croatia with a total of 29 thermographic cameras. These cameras point to people who have a fever and thus will significantly contribute to the fight against the spread of COVID-19 infection.
In our county, cameras are installed on the emergency department at the location of KBC Rijeka and Sušak, Children’s Hospital Kantrida and in the Health Center PGŽ.
So far, Rotary has already helped around the world, but also in Croatia, through donations and volunteering, and thus launched another initiative of Croatian Rotarians worth more than 200 thousand kuna. It donated the highest quality FFP2 and FFP3 masks from 3M to healthcare institutions throughout Croatia.
In addition to cameras and protective masks, 44 Rotary clubs from Croatia joined the fight against COVID-19, participating in a joint humanitarian action that produces, distributes and delivers protective visors for medical staff in 66 hospitals and other institutions throughout Croatia.
